From call recording to CRM notes
After a discovery call, the details that matter are specific: the budget number the prospect mentioned, the objection about their current vendor, the date they agreed to for a follow-up. Upload your recording, get the transcript back as text, and paste those lines into the opportunity record instead of reconstructing them from memory an hour later.
Every transcript includes timestamps, so you can skim for the moment a requirement came up, copy the prospect's exact wording, and drop it into your CRM verbatim. A direct quote in the deal notes is far more useful to a manager or a teammate picking up the account than a paraphrase.

You and the buyer, told apart
FastScribe splits the transcript by voice, labels each one Speaker 1, Speaker 2 and so on, and lets you rename them to you and the buyer once on the transcript page. A two-person call with a microphone each is the case this handles best, which is most sales calls. Where it struggles is the moment you both start talking at once: one waveform carries two voices, and the labeller has to pick one.
For CRM notes, export plain TXT and copy the passages you need, speaker names included. SRT and VTT exports are there if the recording doubles as the soundtrack for a demo video and you want timed captions, and Pro accounts add DOCX when a deal review calls for a formatted document.
Getting the file out of your call software
FastScribe works with uploaded audio or video files only. It cannot connect to Zoom, your dialer, or a meeting platform, and it cannot fetch a recording from a link. Find the recording file your call software saved, download it to your computer if it lives in the cloud, and upload that file directly.
Once the transcription finishes, the audio is deleted the moment your transcript is ready, and only the text is kept, so you can come back later to re-read the call or export it again. If your recording is longer than the ten-minute free limit, a Pro account handles files up to two gigabytes and five hours.
Frequently asked questions
Can FastScribe pull the call straight from Zoom or my dialer?
No. FastScribe only accepts files you upload yourself. Download the recording from your call or meeting software first, then upload that file to get your transcript.
Will the transcript tell me who said what?
Yes. The transcript is split by voice, each labelled Speaker 1, Speaker 2 and so on, and you put the real names in yourself on the transcript page. Two people on a clear call is the easy case. Where you both spoke at once, check the passage against the recording.
How long can my sales call recording be?
Your free first file can be up to fifty megabytes and ten minutes. A free account raises that to thirty minutes and one hundred megabytes, and Pro handles recordings up to two gigabytes and five hours.
Is my call recording stored after it is transcribed?
The audio is deleted the moment your transcript is ready. Only the text is kept, so you can revisit the call notes and export them again whenever you need.
