Frequently asked questions
Does the transcript say who said what in a meeting?
Yes, up to a point. FastScribe splits the transcript by voice and labels each one Speaker 1, Speaker 2 and so on, and you rename them yourself on the transcript page. It cannot know a name from the audio. Fast exchanges and people talking over each other are where the labels are weakest, so check those passages against the recording before minutes go out.
Can I upload a recording from my meeting software?
Yes. Export the audio or video from your call tool and drop it in. If it is a video file, FastScribe pulls out the audio track for you automatically.
Is a confidential meeting recording safe to upload?
Uploads are encrypted in transit, the audio is deleted the moment your transcript is ready, and nothing is sent to outside AI providers, since transcription runs entirely on FastScribe machines.
