Transcribe your own session notes

Transcribe your own session notes by uploading the voice memo you recorded after your last session. FastScribe runs entirely on our own servers, so your recording is never sent to a third-party AI service, and the audio itself is deleted the moment your transcript is ready. Your first file is free with no signup, up to ten minutes and fifty megabytes, about the length of a typical post-session note.

Why dictating after a session beats typing

Many therapists step out of a session and speak a quick voice note while the details are still fresh: themes that came up, changes since last time, things to revisit next week. Speaking takes two minutes; typing the same note at the end of a long day rarely happens.

The problem has always been getting that recording into text you can actually file. Upload the memo to FastScribe and you get back a typed transcript with timestamps, ready to trim, edit into your own note format, and paste into whatever system you keep your records in.

Where your recording goes, and where it never goes

A note dictated after a session is among the most sensitive audio you can record, even when you avoid names. That is why FastScribe transcribes entirely on our own servers, rather than forwarding your file to a third-party AI service. No outside company ever receives your recording.

Once transcription finishes, the audio file is deleted the moment your transcript is ready. Only the text remains, so you can revisit and export it. To be clear about what we are not: FastScribe is a transcription tool, and we make no claim of clinical certification. Treat the transcript as a draft that you review and file under your own record-keeping practices.

From voice memo to a note you can file

Export plain TXT to paste the transcript into your notes and shape it into your usual format. SRT and VTT exports with timing are also available, and Pro accounts add DOCX export when you want a formatted document straight away.

If you dictate after every client, Pro at twelve dollars a month adds batch uploads, a priority queue, files up to two gigabytes and five hours, and unlimited files under fair use, enough to upload a full day of memos at once and get the whole set back together.

Frequently asked questions

Is my recording sent to a third-party AI service?

No. Transcription runs using our own transcription engine. Your audio is never forwarded to an outside AI provider, and it is deleted the moment your transcript is ready.

What happens to my audio and my transcript afterwards?

The audio file is deleted the moment your transcript is ready. The text is kept so you can revisit and export it, and you can edit or trim it before filing it in your own records.

Do I need an account to try it with one voice note?

No. Your first file is free with no signup, up to fifty megabytes and ten minutes, plenty for a post-session memo. A free account raises that to thirty minutes and one hundred megabytes.

Is FastScribe certified for clinical or medical records?

No, and we will not pretend otherwise. FastScribe is a private transcription tool: it types up your recording accurately and deletes the audio, but reviewing the text and storing it according to your professional obligations remains your responsibility.
